The Curtain Call

After two weeks of intensive dress, tech and production rehearsals another hectic two weeks of shows followed. Every night at six o'clock, we began the ritual: makeup, costume, soundcheck, warm-up, meditation into five-minute-call. Every night at ten o'clock, we rewound the process: microphone wires untangled, costumes off and washed, makeup removed, stumbling into bed at 11:15. And now? Radio silence. Jesus Christ Superstar has officially come to an end. I've allowed myself some time to mourn and to celebrate my memories of the cast, crew, production team and the show itself. It's been one week since closing night, and I'm feeling many emotions. Pride, elation, happiness and... disappointment? A strange air of flatness is surrounding me, and at first, I didn't know how to cope with it. I feel emotionally exhausted but also wound-up, and sensitive.
