Crunch Time

Just three weeks until opening night for Jesus Christ Superstar, and you better believe that it's CRUNCH TIME.

The costumes have been sourced, the theatre makeup gathered and the dances learnt. With three weeks to go, there are no excuses for mistakes or lack of enthusiasm.

That's what we've been told. More than once, we've been sat down for notes at the end of a full show run and more than once, we've been told that thus far, we are just not there yet.

Not there yet.

There's no WOW factor and there are no jaw-dropping moments of pure talent and emotion.

I'll admit - hearing this feels almost like taking a beating.

However, it's something you may hear many times over the rehearsal period. With any production you're involved in, or intend to be involved in, there will be days when you forget the steps or mis-sing a lyric. That's inevitable and whilst it may make you feel like an absolute spud, especially when you're called out on it, these mistakes WILL make you a better performer.

It's never personal, nor is it ever an attack - humans make mistakes, it's only natural, but these mistakes happen to make you better (this rule applies to life too guys!)

Keep your chin up, take it easy and just keep singin'.
